Boy did I need to get my nails done.  This is a video made with a Nokia N95 I got in Russia.  I was showing my Uncle Lee how the phone worked and how to make socks.

This really is a fantastic affordable yarn, ever so soft and fluffs up so nice.  I had 16 skeins to make 8 socks.

Based on my tension as show above I knit up some extra large socks.

• 4o rows in 3 x 1 rib
• 70 rows to heel
• 70 rows to toes

Now on to sewing up the toes…..

Mean while on the legare 400 the new yarn Serenity

A new line of yarn from Deborah Norville. The serenity line comes in 4 different weights (Sock, Sport, Worsted & Cunky). The yarn is incredible soft and best of all is machine washable.

• 50% wool, 25% Bamboo, 25% Nylon, 1.76 oz
• 1.76 ounces, 50 grams, 230 yards, 210 meters
• Knit Gauge: Size 1-3 (2.25-3.5mm) needles, 6.75-9 stitches per inch
• Crochet Gauge: Size B-1 – E-4 (2.25-3.5mm) hook, 6.75-9 stitches per inch

I have finally said I am going to kill my sock yarn stash and make a few socks.  Okay more than a few.  This is not even the half of them so many toes to sew yet.

Looking for some 100% wool yarn for scarfs or your sock machine.  This Ebay seller has a nice selection and reasonably prices.  Doesn’t have the stretch of a wool/nylon blend but well work pretty well on your Antique Sock Machine with a 72 cylinder set pretty loose.

I got a P.T. Legare Sock Knitter a few weeks ago. I am starting this blog in my quest to learn about these machines and knitting socks on them. I have found that info is pretty far and few between on the web.
